Pakistan's Prime Minister, Imran Khan, went to Makkah for an Umrah pilgrimage as part of his three-day visit to Saudi Arabia.
On his arrival at the Grand Mosque, he was greeted by high-ranking officials from the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Holy Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque.
Photos of Mr Khan holding his wife Bushra Bibi's hand while performing tawaf, or circumambulating the Kaaba, were shared by social media users. He also travelled to Madinah to visit the Prophet's Mosque.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Mr Khan earlier signed agreements at Al Salam Palace in Jeddah.
"The two leaders reaffirmed the historical and fraternal ties between the kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, reviewing all facets of bilateral co-operation and discussing regional and international issues of mutual interest," the Saudi Press Agency reported.
“The two sides discussed ways to strengthen relations of the two brotherly countries in all fields, and agreed to intensify contacts and co-operation between government officials and the private sector in the two countries, with the aim of promoting bilateral relations to the benefit of both countries."
Khalid Al Falih, the Saudi Minister of Investment, praised the Saudi-Pakistani Supreme Co-ordination Council initiative, which seeks to boost bilateral economic and trade co-operation.
Mr Al Falih said that the volume of trade between the two countries amounted to 33 billion riyals ($8.8bn) during the past three years, despite the pandemic.
It is hoped that developing trade relations between the two countries will boost economic growth.

When Umm Kulthum performed in Abu Dhabi
Known as The Lady of Arabic Song, Umm Kulthum performed in Abu Dhabi on November 28, 1971, as part of celebrations for the fifth anniversary of the accession of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan as Ruler of Abu Dhabi. A concert hall was constructed for the event on land that is now Al Nahyan Stadium, behind Al Wahda Mall. The audience were treated to many of Kulthum's most well-known songs as part of the sold-out show, including Aghadan Alqak and Enta Omri.
