The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed toured Egypt’s under construction resort city of New Alamein on Thursday during the second day of a state visit.
Sheikh Mohamed was accompanied by his host, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, who is also the driving force behind the construction west of the city of Alexandria as well as around a dozen new cities across Egypt and a string of mega infrastructure projects.
Sheikh Mohamed, according to Egyptian presidential spokesman Bassam Radi, expressed his admiration for the rapid progress in the building work at the new city and the projects there that would contribute to Egypt's "comprehensive development."
The crown prince later visited the Alamein military museum, whose exhibits commemorate the 1942 World War II battle of the same name. That battle, won by allied forces over the Axis, marked a turning point in the war.
Sheikh Mohamed arrived in Alexandria on Wednesday and held one-on-one talks with Mr El Sisi before the two leaders were joined by delegates for more discussions. The two leaders also looked on as officials from both nations signed several cooperation agreements.
"UAE's support for the Arab Republic of Egypt has been a mainstay of the country’s foreign policy since late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan who was aware of the pivotal role and historical and political leverage of Egypt and was cognizant of the fact that Egypt's stability is fundamental to the security of all Arab nations," Sheikh Mohamed told Wam government news agency.

Real estate tokenisation project
Dubai launched the pilot phase of its real estate tokenisation project last month.
The initiative focuses on converting real estate assets into digital tokens recorded on blockchain technology and helps in streamlining the process of buying, selling and investing, the Dubai Land Department said.
Dubai’s real estate tokenisation market is projected to reach Dh60 billion ($16.33 billion) by 2033, representing 7 per cent of the emirate’s total property transactions, according to the DLD.

What is the definition of an SME?
SMEs in the UAE are defined by the number of employees, annual turnover and sector. For example, a “small company” in the services industry has six to 50 employees with a turnover of more than Dh2 million up to Dh20m, while in the manufacturing industry the requirements are 10 to 100 employees with a turnover of more than Dh3m up to Dh50m, according to Dubai SME, an agency of the Department of Economic Development.
A “medium-sized company” can either have staff of 51 to 200 employees or 101 to 250 employees, and a turnover less than or equal to Dh200m or Dh250m, again depending on whether the business is in the trading, manufacturing or services sectors.
