Ahed Tamimi, a teenage girl who Palestinians see as a symbol of resistance, is expected to be released from an Israeli prison on Sunday, her father said.
Bassem Al Tamimi told the Anadolu Agency that his daughter was slated for release on August 19, at the latest, but that her release date could be significantly brought forward.
The Israeli Prison Authority has the authority to reduce jail terms for some prisoners following a "special evaluation".
A giant mural of Ahed Tamimi has been painted on the Israeli separation wall in the occupied West Bank near Bethlehem ahead of her release.
The masked man painting the roughly four-meter mural said he was Italian street artist Jorit Agoch, AFP reported.
Tamimi, 17, was 16 when she became a symbol of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict when she was filmed slapping an Israeli soldier in front of her house in the West Bank in December.
The footage of the incident went viral and the Palestinian was eventually arrested and sentenced to eight months in jail by an Israeli military court.
A video released by the family of the Palestinian teen showed an Israeli interrogator threatening Tamimi, commenting on her body, and saying she has "eyes of an angel."

The Energy Research Centre
