A man wanted for killing four policemen at a checkpoint in Saudi Arabia last month was killed by security forces, the Interior Ministry said on Monday.
The Saudi man shot, Khaled Mohammed Ali Al Shahri, was surrounded in his family home in the town of Al Wahda on Saturday night but refused to surrender, said a ministry statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency.
The report added that Al Shahri attacked security forces with a knife.

He was wanted for the killing of the four officers on April 20 in the southwestern Asir province on Arqoub road between the provinces of Majarada and Bareq.
The motive behind last month’s attack was not clear, but Asir province borders Yemen, where a Saudi-led coalition — which includes the UAE — is battling the Iran-backed Houthi rebels on behalf of the internationally-recognised government of Yemeni President Abdrabu Mansur Hadi.
It was not clear if the incident was related to the ongoing civil war. At the time, state-owned Al Arabiya television reported that one gunman was killed and two others were detained.
