Thousands of Britons face losing their votes

Thousands of Britons face losing their votes because of the European flight ban. Applications to register to vote sent just in time for today's deadline are likely to have been held up - meaning some voters in the UAE could be excluded from the electoral roll. There is, however, one last chance. Britons can apply for a proxy postal vote by fax to the elections office at their local council. A phone number for each office can be found on the website aboutmyvote.co.uk, as can the necessary forms, which must be received by 8pm UAE time today.
