Authorities at Britain's parliament say they have found a "suspicious package" near the entrance to the House of Lords. People were asked to avoid the area.
Despite this, debates continued at both the House of Commons and House of Lords, and there were no reports of any injuries.
On Wednesday, counter-terrorism police were called to separate locations across London, including near to Heathrow Airport, after three "small improvised explosive devices" were found.
It appeared at least on of the packages had been sent from Ireland.
