Nearly Dh14bn billion in essential aid has been given to Yemen, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation has announced.
The figure covers relief assistance provided between April 2015 and last month across humanitarian and development areas that include education, health, utilities, and energy.
Breaking down the figures further, the Ministry said 66 per cent of overseas aid for Yemen was for development projects, including Dh1.06 billion for energy generation and supply, and Dh754 million for health care.
Emergency aid, including food, was Dh3.68 billion, and around Dh600 million given for government services, along with Dh485 for social services and Dh153 for education.
The Ministry says the UAE will continue to work with international agencies, including Unicef, the World Health Organisation and other UN bodies to make sure relief is delivered effectively and efficiently.

Salah in numbers
€39 million: Liverpool agreed a fee, including add-ons, in the region of €39m (nearly Dh176m) to sign Salah from Roma last year. The exchange rate at the time meant that cost the Reds £34.3m - a bargain given his performances since.

Real estate tokenisation project
Dubai launched the pilot phase of its real estate tokenisation project last month.
The initiative focuses on converting real estate assets into digital tokens recorded on blockchain technology and helps in streamlining the process of buying, selling and investing, the Dubai Land Department said.
Dubai’s real estate tokenisation market is projected to reach Dh60 billion ($16.33 billion) by 2033, representing 7 per cent of the emirate’s total property transactions, according to the DLD.
