Windy and wet weather expected across the UAE

ABU DHABI // Windy and potentially wet weather is expected across the country until the end of the week, forecasters say.

The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology said hazy and cloudy conditions seen in recent days will continue until Thursday with the chance of scattered rainfall across the emirates.

“There will be partly cloudy weather over some areas,” said the weather bureau. “Cloud amount will increase at times, especially over northern and eastern areas, with a chance of some rain by night and Wednesday early morning.

“There will be light to moderate winds in general, freshening gradually. The relative humidity will increase over some internal and coastal areas during night and early morning.”

Forecasters have also warned of possible fog formation by Wednesday morning.

The weather bureau urged motorists to take extra care on the roads because of low visibility and blowing dust.

Drivers are also being cautioned to take extra care in the event of rain.

The same weather conditions are expected until Thursday with an significant fall in temperatures expected.

The maximum temperatures expected in internal areas on Tuesday were between 29°C to 35°C, with minimums of 11°C to 17°C.

In coastal areas, maximum temperatures were expected to be between 24°C to 29°C and minimums ranging from 14°C to 19°C.

The weather bureau has warned that the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea will be rough until the end of the week.

The cloudy weather will begin to clear by Thursday, according to forecasters.
