UAE residents can expect improved weather in time for the long weekend - but the forecast is gloomier for National Day.
After rain and thunderstorms battered parts of the UAE earlier this week, forecasters have predicted sunshine in Abu Dhabi on Friday and Saturday, although clouds will return on Sunday. The temperature will be around 29 degrees.
It is likely to be similar in Dubai, although weather is likely to be slightly more cloudy on Saturday. It will follow a day on ‘brilliant sunshine’ on Friday, when temperatures are likely to hit 31 degrees, according to forecasting service Accuweather.
Thousands are also expected to attend the Rugby Sevens in Dubai this weekend.
The National Centre of Meteorology in the UAE residents can expect a “fair to partly cloudy” day on Friday, with similar weather expected on Saturday.
It follows a period of unusually bad weather in the UAE, with thunderstorms and heavy rain causing problems earlier this week, particularly in Dubai, where some schools closed.
The National Centre for Meteorology moved to send out orange weather warnings for much of the country to prepare for hazardous conditions and red warnings advising people to be vigilant along coastal areas between Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

In the village of Mevagissey in southwest England the housing stock has doubled in the last century while the number of residents is half the historic high. The village's Neighbourhood Development Plan states that 26% of homes are holiday retreats. Prices are high, averaging around £300,000, £50,000 more than the Cornish average of £250,000. The local average wage is £15,458.
