Dubai features prominently in one of 2021’s most eagerly awaited video games.

Five minutes of footage from the opening level of Hitman 3 was released as a sneak preview ahead of its launch on January 20.

The footage shared on YouTube featured the game’s hero, Agent 47, standing on the roof of a skyscraper high among the clouds.

In scenes reminiscent of Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, 47 has to scale the side of the building to gain entry to a room to complete his assignment.

Ditching his stealth suit for more formal business attire, Protocol makes his way through the building to a glittering reception to make the opening of the building, the Burj Al Ghazali, nicknamed The Sceptre – which, in true Dubai fashion, has taken over the mantle of the world's tallest building.

A trailer for the game was released in 2020 also featuring action from the Dubai level of the latest instalment in the long-running Hitman series.

Gamers can play the game later this month on Playstation, Xbox and Nintendo.
