ABU DHABI // Hot and hazy weather is set to persist over the long holiday weekend.
The weather will be fair in general, hazy and partly cloudy at times.
There is also a chance of towering clouds gathering over the eastern region, and that may be associated with rain.
Light to moderate winds will help to freshen up conditions over some areas, but temperatures are expected to hit a high of 48°C with a low of 43°C in the interior.
The coastal areas will only be slightly cooler, recording a high of 42°C with a low of 38°C, the National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology said on Thursday.
It will not be much cooler in the mountains either, with highs of 38°C forecast.
Weather forecasters warn relative humidity will increase at night and in the early morning.
Humidity in the coastal areas and the interior will reach 75 to 95 per cent, and 45 to 65 per cent in the mountains. Mist may form.
Marine conditions will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman.
