UAE weather: chance of weekend rain in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI // Residents and motorists are warned of unstable weather over the UAE on Thursday and Friday.

Forecasters say there is a chance of rainfall along the western part of Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and some inland areas of the capital.

Clouds will increase throughout the day, said the National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology.

Rain is expected at night time and on Friday morning.

South-easterly to north-easterly winds will be moderate to fresh and especially active over sea and exposed areas causing poor visibility because of blowing dust and sand.

Sea will be rough to very rough in areas with cloud activity over the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

Maximum temperatures are expected to range between 35°C to 38°C inland, and from 32 to 35°C along the coast, and from 19°C to 24°C in mountainous areas.

The minimum temperatures are expected to range between 18°C to 22 °C inland, 19°C to 23 °C along the coast, and from 12°C to 17 °C in mountainous areas according to the centre.

NCMS advised everyone to take caution because of poor visibility due to the rainfall, blowing dust and raised sand.

It also warned mariners to avoid going to sea during this period due to the rough waves.
