UAE stargazers enjoy rare hybrid solar eclipse

A group of stargazers gathered at Mamzar Corniche in Deira today to witness a rare hybrid solar eclipse.

Members of the Dubai Astronomy Group met to witness the event which started from the Atlantic Ocean, off the east coast of Florida.

A hybrid eclipse shifts between a total eclipse to an annular eclipse, depending on which part of Earth it is viewed from.

The eclipse started just before sunset in the UAE, giving photographers and astronomers little time to capture the rare moment.
