When one believes in Divine Decree, they know that they must take all measures to get the most possible benefit of their life and work, and when something out of hand happens it was decreed.
“By making the right choice, one can change one’s fate of poverty into fate of fortune and prosperity, as well as his sickness into health,” says Friday’s sermon.
“And if something misses them, it was never meant to reach them.”
As a verse from the Quran says: “No disaster strikes except by permission of Allah. And whoever believes in Allah - He will guide his heart. And Allah is Knowing of all things.”
People should understand that what Allah decrees for mankind is for their best.
“One should believe in Allah’s predestination whether at times of joy or sorrow,” the sermon says.
“One should hope for what in store for him in Allah’s hands, seek His mercy and ask Him for help.
As Prophet Mohammed said: “And seek the help of Allah, and do not feel helpless. If anything befalls you, do not say ‘If only I had done such and such’ rather say ‘Allah has decreed and whatever He wills, He does,’ for (saying) ‘If’ opens (the door) to the deeds of Satan.”
“Therefore, believing in the Divine Decree strengthens our stamina to try our best in managing our worldly life matters,” the sermon concludes.
“If things turn out the way we want, it will be of Allah’s favour upon us. Yet if sometimes we do not achieve what we wanted, we should trust the dictates of the Almighty’s wisdom.”
