This is the shocking moment an Abu Dhabi driver smashes into a central reservation at speed and careers across a busy highway.
The horrifying footage shows a white SUV losing control and ploughing headlong into a raised slipway, obliterating several traffic signs.
Unable to stop, the car then veers violently left, right across the path of other motorists. Seconds later it slams into an embankment.
Police say the motorist was on their mobile phone at the time of the incident, highlighting the potentially deadly consequences of driving while distracted.
The accident was recently captured on CCTV by Abu Dhabi Police, who have again warned road users not to use their phones while driving.
It is not known if the driver of the vehicle was injured in the crash, or if the individual was charged.
