A futuristic mobility system that could revolutionise travel around Dubai was praised on Tuesday by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed.
During a visit to the Metro Depot at Al Rashidiya, the Crown Prince of Dubai witnessed the unveiling of two versions of what have been termed Sky Pods by the city's Roads and Transport Authority.
Each capsule is said to be five times more efficient than standard electric vehicles, requiring infrastructure which is ten times smaller than that needed by conventional transit systems of a similar capacity.
They have a top speed of 150km/h and can carry about 20,000 riders per hour.
Sheikh Hamdan also inspected the new Dubai Metro trains which have recently arrived in the UAE and are being tested at the depot.
