UFO-style flying vehicle set to hit the market in 2025

Flying cars have long been the stuff of science fiction films such as Bladerunner or Back to the Future, but they could be closer to reality than you might think.

A Canadian company is accepting deposits for a personal flying vehicle that can travel at speeds of up to 300 kilometres per hour.

The Daymak Avvenire Skyrider will not be released until 2025 - but the company is confident people will not want to wait to put their names down for a vehicle that looks more like a UFO than a car.

“Imagine a future where there are no roads, no traffic, no pollution, commute to your work in minutes, fully autonomous fly from point a to point b,” Daymak claimed.

“This is our dream and we are going to develop it.”

There is no final price confirmed for the Skyrider but owners can expect to receive a vehicle with 250 horsepower, more than an Audi TT or Jaguar XE.

The Skyrider also has a range of up to 100km.

“The Skyrider exists to create the next step in e-vehicle evolution,” the website said.

“We are combining science with elegance for a world with no roads, no traffic, and no pollution.

“When Da Vinci thought of the first flying machine, this is how he envisioned the world.”

The company is not stopping at flying cars either. They also announced an entire range of futuristic e-vehicles under the Avennire umbrella.

One of their flagship vehicles is a three-wheel e-scooter, known as the Tectus, that can reach speeds of up to 160kph.

The Tectus is designed for all conditions and also comes with a self-driving feature.

“The Tectus gives freedom to ride anytime anywhere,” the website said.

“It features a full enclosure to block rain and snow and dual motors to tackle dirt, snow and sand roads.

“This is a true on road/off road, all-weather mobility scooter.”

The Tectus is expected to cost just under $5,000 and the first models will be available from 2022, according to Daymak.

The firm also launched an e-bike that allows riders to lie on their back while travelling at speeds of up to 32kph. It has a range of 160km.

The Foras is essentially a covered bike that acts as an ultralight car, which allows people to travel through cities quickly and silently, regardless of the weather conditions.

It is equipped with a back-up camera and can be fully charged within an hour.

It will also set you back just under $5,000 and will be available from 2021, Daymak said.

The company is also releasing an e-bike that comes with solar panels that trickle charge the battery.

The bike, known as Terra, has a range of 100km and can reach speeds of 32kph. It comes with stereo speakers as well as USB charging and a built-in GPS.

Deliveries of the Terra are expected to begin in 2021 and it will cost slightly less than $3,500 to own one.
