Roads across the UAE were gridlocked this morning as many returned to work after the weekend.
There were tailbacks across Sharjah, including on Al Itihad Street, starting in Sharjah Industrial Area 1 and running up until Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club. The roads around Victoria International School Sharjah were also slow, as was 29th Street, from Safeer Hypermarket up to the junction with Al Wahda Street.
There were also tailbacks on Al Nahda Street past the Sahara Centre Sharjah, while a section of the Sharjah Ring Road at the turn for Damascus Street was also slow. The queues continued onto Damascus Street itself up the traffic lights near Al Qusais Industrial 4. There were also tailbacks further down Sharjah Ring Road, running from the impounded car yard to the turn for Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road.
Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road was slow from before Al Thiqah Club for the Handicapped right up to MIrdif City Centre.
In Sharjah, Al Daid Street was heavily congested, from Al Goaz down to past the Saif Free Zone.
A section of Section Industrial Street was also slow approaching the Sharjah Ring Road and there were also queues on Third Industrial Street in Sharjah Industrial Area 3.
There were a few problem spots in Dubai, too, particularly around the international airport, including Al Khawaneej Road.
Al Awir Road was also slow, starting from before where it crosses Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and running up to Al Ghandi Service Centre.
There were tailbacks on Sheikh Zayed Road, starting before Emarat Headquarters and running up to Medcare Women and Children’s Hospital. It was also slow Sharjah-bound, from Mall of the Emirates Station to near Union Coopertaive Society Warehouse, where there had been an accident.
Traffic was also crawling on Al Wasl Road, starting from Umm Suqeim Centre up to Emirates Petroleum Al Ghadeer. Hessa Street was also slow from Al Barsha South 1 up to past Jebel Ali Racecourse.
Traffic was also slow in parts of Abu Dhabi, including on the Abu Dhabi – Sweihan – Al HIyar road leading up past Al Ghazal Golf Club and again starting at Capital City, right up to where the road becomes Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street before Mussafah Bridge.
In Mohammed Bin Zayed City, there were tailbacks on the Abu Dhabi – Al Ain Truck Road, as well as the Abu Dhabi/Al Ain Road up to Sas Al Nakhel.
Traffic was also moving slower on Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Street, starting from Khalifa Park and running right up to almost the Ect College AL Nahyan Military Camp.

Quick pearls of wisdom
Focus on gratitude: And do so deeply, he says. “Think of one to three things a day that you’re grateful for. It needs to be specific, too, don’t just say ‘air.’ Really think about it. If you’re grateful for, say, what your parents have done for you, that will motivate you to do more for the world.”
Know how to fight: Shetty married his wife, Radhi, three years ago (he met her in a meditation class before he went off and became a monk). He says they’ve had to learn to respect each other’s “fighting styles” – he’s a talk it-out-immediately person, while she needs space to think. “When you’re having an argument, remember, it’s not you against each other. It’s both of you against the problem. When you win, they lose. If you’re on a team you have to win together.”
