UAE traffic: accident on Sheikh Zayed Street leads to delays in Abu Dhabi



A car accident right before Al Gurm tunnel on Sheikh Zayed Street outbound caused congestion from 7:15am in Abu Dhabi this morning.

Abu Dhabi Police announced that they cleared the accident scene, but traffic delays remained all the way from the Sheikh Zayed Tunnel up until the exit before the Sheikh Zayed Bridge leading to the Abu Dhabi Officers Club.

Heavy traffic could also be seen on the Waze traffic app nearby on the Abu Dhabi-Al Ain road.

A second accident took place on the E20 Abu Dhabi-Sweihan-Al Hiyar road, causing slow traffic. Cars were moving at an average speed of 20kph.

Real estate tokenisation project

Dubai launched the pilot phase of its real estate tokenisation project last month.

The initiative focuses on converting real estate assets into digital tokens recorded on blockchain technology and helps in streamlining the process of buying, selling and investing, the Dubai Land Department said.

Dubai’s real estate tokenisation market is projected to reach Dh60 billion ($16.33 billion) by 2033, representing 7 per cent of the emirate’s total property transactions, according to the DLD.
