A new flyover that passes over the busy Dubai-Al Ain Road opened to motorists on Saturday.
Traffic coming from Nad Al Sheba 2 towards Nad Al Sheba 1 or the Dubai-Al Ain Road will be redirected to the new Nad Al Sheba Bridge.
The Roads and Transport Authority said the detour means traffic coming off the bridge will be redirected towards Nad Al Hamar road.
Motorists are advised to plan their journeys ahead and seek out alternative routes to reach their destination.
The construction of the new overpass is part of a Dh2 billion ($544 million) project to widen the Dubai-Al Ain Road.
The project, launched by the emirate's transport authority, will improve connectivity on key roads in the city, including Ras Al Khor Road, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Road, Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Road and Emirates Road, said officials.

- Muslim Brotherhood at all levels has repeatedly defended Hamas attacks against Israel, including the use of suicide bombers and the killing of civilians.
- Laying out the report in the House of Commons, David Cameron told MPs: "The main findings of the review support the conclusion that membership of, association with, or influence by the Muslim Brotherhood should be considered as a possible indicator of extremism."
