A new ferry service will link Dubai Mall and Marina Mall, the city's transport authority said on Wednesday.
The journey will pass under the canal bridge and through Business Bay, allowing shoppers to take in much of the city in a single journey.
It will stop at Al Wajeha Al Maeyah station near Bay Square, from which shoppers can walk from or take a free bus to the mall.
At present, the main marina ferry, which runs three times per day, sails up and down the coast, linking the new city with the Creek and old Dubai and passing Bluewaters Island and Burj Al Arab.
The new 80-minute mall-to-mall journey will cost Dh68.25 for adults. The existing coastal service ticket is Dh50.
The Roads and Transport Authority, which announced the service at an event with developer Emaar on Wednesday, said it will begin next week.
