Public transport users in Abu Dhabi can now enjoy free Wi-Fi on 520 buses across the emirate.
Transport chiefs on Tuesday announced the first phase of a project to offer free internet services was complete.
This means people using 410 buses in the capital and 110 buses in Al Ain can log on for free.
The Integrated Transport Centre - the entity responsible for operating public transport - said the initiative aimed to improve services and make daily travel more convenient and productive.
It also said the Wi-Fi project was designed to change travel behaviour and encourage more people to use public transport.
There are 772 buses in total across Abu Dhabi and authorities said the second phase of the Wi-Fi project will be announced later.
The move is the latest in a series of initiatives from transport authorities to enhance the public bus network.
Abu Dhabi earlier this month added 140 new public buses across the emirate to boost the frequency of services.
Scores of new bus shelters equipped with air conditioning and better facilities have also been built over the past two years.
