DUBAI // All parking areas in Dubai will be free of charge on Thursday for the Hijri New Year holiday, except in the fish market car park and multistorey parking terminals, the Roads and Transport Authority has announced.
The parking fee system will be reactivated on Saturday, said Moaza Al Marri, RTA’s director of marketing and corporate communication.
Services at vehicle testing and registration centres will not be available on Thursday except for the Al Qusais quick registration centre and the Dubai Mall platinum registration centre.
Both the Qusais and Dubai Mall centres will be open during the holiday.
There will be no change in the timetables of public buses, metro, tram or marine transit modes during the holiday, the RTA said.
Thursday was declared as a holiday for public and private sector workers by the government.
