Emirati killed in Fujairah high-speed crash

The 21-year-old Emirati's car split in two by the impact, Fujairah Police said.

FUJAIRAH // A 21-year-old Emirati died when the Toyota Camry he was travelling in collided at high speed with a lamppost, splitting the vehicle in two in the early hours of Sunday.

Police said the crash happened at 4.50am on the main road through Dibba, Fujairah.

The man sustained serious injuries and was taken to Dibba Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5.45am.

A funeral was held after Al Asr prayers at Sheikh Rashid Al Qasimi mosque in Dibba. Police urged motorists to follow traffic rules and abide by speed limits.
