DUBAI // Car owners in Dubai can now get the vehicle testing required for insurance and registration renewal done on a Friday, the Licensing Agency at the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has announced.
"Vehicles testing and insurance services will be available on Fridays, but not transaction processing," said Mohammed Nimaat, director of Vehicles Licensing Services.
Tasjeel, Shamil, Tamam Al-Ghandi, Al-Shirawi, Cars, and Al-Mumayaz testing services will take turns remaining open on a Friday, and customer can contact the RTA's Call Center (800 9090) to find out which are open.
The hours were extended to "meet the needs of a huge chunk of the public who asked for the provision of these two services during official holidays", Mr Nimaat said. He said he hoped the extra shift would improve matters for both customers and employees by easing the workload on week days.

Real estate tokenisation project
Dubai launched the pilot phase of its real estate tokenisation project last month.
The initiative focuses on converting real estate assets into digital tokens recorded on blockchain technology and helps in streamlining the process of buying, selling and investing, the Dubai Land Department said.
Dubai’s real estate tokenisation market is projected to reach Dh60 billion ($16.33 billion) by 2033, representing 7 per cent of the emirate’s total property transactions, according to the DLD.
