Dubai Police add new supercar to dazzling fleet – in pictures

The garage at Dubai Police is already the envy of supercar enthusiasts the world over, and the fleet just got even better.

The newly acquired Toyota 2021 GR Supra has a longitudinally mounted, in-line turbocharged six-cylinder engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The 3.0-litre powerhouse can accelerate to 100kph in 4.1 seconds and is capable of an electronically limited top speed of 250kph.

Dubai Police already own a Ferrari and a Bugatti Veyron, plus several Porsches, Bentleys and McLarens.

Their most recent additions include a Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S and a Maserati GranTurismo.

The high-octane sports cars can frequently be spotted outside Dubai Mall, or driving in front off road events such as the Dubai Marathon or UAE Tour.

The aim of the supercars is to break down barriers between the police and the public.

"We are constantly looking for ways to connect with the public," said Brig Mohamed Al Razooqi, general director at the Department of Transport & Rescue at Dubai Police.

“The increase of high-powered supercars to the department’s fleet is due to the positive feedback from the citizens and media.

"We're not trying to show off with these cars, even though the Supra is quite the head-turner. Rather, we want to show tourists and residents alike how friendly the police are across the city."
