Thousands of people in Dubai were unable to use the metro’s Red Line for a number of hours on Saturday following a technical fault. The Roads and Transport Authority announced a disruption between Al Rashidya and Emirates Tower stations and deployed more than 30 buses to transport passengers instead. By early afternoon, officials said the service was “back to normal”. It was unclear what had caused the disruption.
