DUBAI // A man was killed and almost 40 people injured in an accident involving more than 20 vehicles this morning.
Dubai Police said foggy conditions had contributed to the massive pile-up on Lehbab-Jebel Ali road.
The multi-vehicle accident occurred after a truck hit a bus which was stationary in the middle of the road after it had collided with another truck.
"Between 20-30 cars piled up as a consequence of the crash," one witness said.
The bus driver was killed and several passengers were trapped.
Four people suffered serious injuries while eight had moderate injuries and 26 had minor injuries.
The injured were transferred to Rashid Hospital.

In the village of Mevagissey in southwest England the housing stock has doubled in the last century while the number of residents is half the historic high. The village's Neighbourhood Development Plan states that 26% of homes are holiday retreats. Prices are high, averaging around £300,000, £50,000 more than the Cornish average of £250,000. The local average wage is £15,458.
