The Quran has stressed the importance of respectful human relations and the UAE's new anti-discrimination and hate law responds to those teachings.
Friday’s sermon explains the importance of polite dialogue and respect between religions and sects.
“The anti-discrimination and hate law is a clear response to the call of all divine religions which called for preserving the dignity of a human and his rights,” says the sermon. “And to maintain sanctities which Islam has called to preserve against any attacker or discriminator.”
And since there are people who are not deterred by religious teachings, the law should fulfil that role.
“The law has included stringent punishments against whoever dares to offend any religion or its practices or sanctities.”
The law is a continuation of the UAE’s leading role in protecting freedoms and religious tolerance.
“This wise law was issued at a suitable time ... to enrich principles of moderation ... and it is a universal message to fight discrimination, hate and to create a blockade around extremism,” the sermon says.
“Allah has sent His messengers to spread love and peace between people ... and each prophet continued what his former messenger started.”

- September 21 Anyone interested in becoming a certified yoga instructor can sign up for a 250-hour course in Yoga Teacher Training with Jacquelene Sadek. It begins on September 21 and will take place over the course of six weekends.
- October 18 to 21 International yoga instructor, Yogi Nora, will be visiting Bodytree and offering classes.
- October 26 to November 4 International pilates instructor Courtney Miller will be on hand at the studio, offering classes.
