Municipality officials visited Dubai Safari Park on Wednesday to review progress.
The park is in it's final stages and is expected to open within the next few months, according to Dubai Municipality.
A spectacle more than a decade in the making, the park is spread over 119 hectares.
Eighty of those hectares will feature villages representing different regions of the world and 35 hectares are allocated for the Open Safari village.
Final preparations are under way and the park, which is near Dragonmart, will be home to animals including lions, antelopes, elephants and creatures from Australasia and the Americas.
Visitors will travel around the park in environmentally-friendly electric vehicles and some of the park's facilities are supported by solar-power.
The park replaces the current Dubai Zoo. It will host a breeding programme at the conservation centre that aims to release animals into the wild each year.
