A boat sank off the coast of Umm Al Quwain on Friday evening and its six crew members were rescued by the coast guard and UAQ Police.
A police spokesman said the boat sank near the Ras Al Khaimah border and rescue teams from police and the coast guard moved quickly to help.
The crew were taken to UAQ hospital and treated after which they were returned to the police for interrogations regarding the exact cause of this incident.
The contents of the boat are still unknown.
The winter season has seen a number of ships and boats sinking off the Northern Emirates.
