Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, received President Isaias Afwerki of Eritrea, who is currently visiting the UAE, on Tuesday.
Sheikh Mohammed welcomed the Eritrean president, and expressed his hope that the visit will contribute to strengthening ties between the UAE and Eritrea for the benefit of both nations, state news agency Wam reported.
Sheikh Mohammed and Mr Afwerki reviewed current bilateral relations and exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual concern. They also discussed opportunities for trade and investment co-operation.
Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, also attended the meeting.
