Sheikh Khalifa orders 6 flights to Bahrain for Gulf Cup fans

Fans of the UAE football team are being given the opportunity of flying on one of six special flights for Tuesday's Gulf Cup semi-final, thanks to the President, Sheikh Khalifa.

Six flights will carry supporters to Bahrain where the national team will play either Saudi Arabia or Kuwait.

Fans can register tomorrow at the Al Jazira Club between 10am and 5pm. Supporters from Dubai and the Northern Emirates can register at the head office of the UAE Football Association in Al Khawaneej in Dubai.

The initiative was launched “in recognition of [the team’s] good performance as well as in response to calls by the fans to provide moral support to the team in the tournament”, according to state news agency Wam.

Two flights each will fly from Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, and one each from Dubai and Sharjah.
