Sheikh Khalifa calls for UAE-wide prayers for rain



President Sheikh Khalifa has called for a prayer for rain, known as Salaat Al Istisqaa, to be performed in all mosques and musallahs across the country at 11.30am on Friday.

Sheikh Khalifa called for supplicating God to send rain, mercy and abundance upon the country and its people.

Dr Mohammed Matar Al Kaabi, Chairman of the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Awqaf, said a coordination was made with the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai, the Department of Islamic Affairs in Sharjah, as well as the Authority's branches across the UAE, to arrange for performing the prayer on Friday in all mosques.
