Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, launched the Dubai Fitness Challenge, as part of the Opening Weekend Carnival at Al Safa Park in Dubai on Friday. The 30-day fitness challenge involves physical and sporting activities and includes the participation of many community members and groups to promote exercise. Sheikh Hamdan expressed his happiness at the large turnout, the response of the people of Dubai, and the participation of a wide segment of the local society from all ages in the challenge, to make Dubai one of the most active cities in the world. "I am happy to see this enthusiasm and preparedness in participating in the fitness challenge. The aim of the event is to educate people on the importance of sports and its positive effect on the health of people. I wish that our people would continue exercising, with the same enthusiasm, after the end of the fitness challenge," he said.
