HH Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, has praised the UAE’s Armed Forces at a military public demonstration in Sharjah on Friday.
The live-action 2nd Union Fortress show, the largest-ever public demonstration in the Emirate involving key units from the ground, sea and air forces, took place in front of a huge crowd of spectators.
Sheikh Sultan said the nation’s armed forces were ready to offer the ultimate sacrifice in protecting the UAE at the event attended by a plethora of VIP guests.
''The UAE has always been associated with giving, being at the forefront in extending a helping hand to the needy and friends in all circumstances in the implementation of the directives of the rulers of the country, led by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan,” he said.
“Our armed forces have stayed the same course, offering ultimate sacrifices in the service of the nation and religion.”
The show encompassed a staged attack on a VIP convoy by terrorists, in which the guards swept in and resolved the situation. The exercise saw other live-action scenarios including internal security threats and hostage extractions.
