Seven women have been accused of luring men in to Dubai apartments by offering them massage and then stealing large sums of cash.
Al Refaa Police Station received reports that two men had been assaulted and robbed by women who had luring them in for a massage nearby.
Brig Ahmed bin Ghalaita, director of Al Refaa Police Station, said the first incident happened in the second week of June.
“The first incident occurred when a 24-year-old man from Uzbekistan found a massage card on the ground and called the number. Then he received a message containing the address, pictures of women and prices for the massage service,” said Brig bin Galitha.
“When the man knocked on the door, he was surprised by five African women aged between 40-50 years, and one in her twenties. They dragged him into the apartment and stripped him naked and took pictures of him,” said Brig bin Galitha.
The women allegedly threatened to share his pictures on social media and stole Dh5,000 from him.
In another incident, Dh60,000 in cash was stolen from an Asian man.
“The man told police that his manager gave him the money to deposit it in the company’s bank accounts after he dropped his boss off at the airport,” said Brig Bin Ghalitha.
“The Asian man instead searched for massage services via Facebook and found several phone numbers. When he knocked on the door, the African women opened and dragged him inside and stole the money.”
A police force was formed to investigate the incidents and track the female gang, and a few days later the seven suspects were arrested in an apartment located in a different building to where the incidents took place.
The suspects were referred to Dubai Public Prosecution.
