A project to transform Al Khail Road into a key motorway for Dubai is to move another step forward early next year.

All bridges being developed at interchanges on Al Khail are to be completed, along with other road improvements, by early 2013, the Roads and Transport Authority said.

The developments are part of a Dh1.9 biilion project to provide Dubai with an alternate traffic corridor alongside Sheikh Zayed Road.

“The importance of the project is underlined by the fact it represents an extension of Business Bay Crossing,” said Matter Al Tayer, RTA executive director.
