AJMAN // A tanker overturned at the Al Zorah roundabout spilling oil on the road and causing traffic jams for about four hours.
Major Saif Abdallah Al Falasi, the head of the patrolling and traffic department at Ajman police, said the tanker's driver suffered moderate injuries in the incident which happened in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
He added the accident was caused by speeding.
"The tanker was being driven recklessly at high speed while approaching the roundabout, leading the driver to lose control of the wheels and causing the loaded oil to leak on to the road."
The driver was taken to Khalifa hospital for treatment. Police patrols guided motorists to alternative routes while the tanker was removed by a heavy lift crane and civil defence crews cleared the oil from the road. The road was reopened by about 8am.
Maj Al Falasi urged motorists to avoid driving at high speed while approaching a roundabout and to slow down for their own safety and the safety of other road users.

3. Take a mental snapshot rather than a photo on your phone. Instead of sharing it with your social world, try to absorb the moment, connect with your feeling, experience the moment with all five of your senses. You will have a memory of that moment more vividly and for far longer than if you take a picture of it.
