Ras Al Khaimah Police swooped in to rescue an Emirati family battling exhaustion and dehydration on a mountain trek.
A search and rescue team from the air wing of the force was deployed after reports that the three UAE nationals were struggling while at 4,500 feet in the mountainous area of Sulayat al-Baqal in the emirate.
Police located the family and provided them with first aid before transferring them to Saqr Hospital by helicopter.
The trio have since been released from hospital and are recovering well.
"We received a report stating that the three family members were suffering from exhaustion at an altitude of 4,500 feet in the mountainous area of Sulayat al-Baqal," said Colonel Saeed Rashid Al Yamahi, head of the air wing at RAK Police.
Col Al Yamahi said high temperatures and the distance the group had covered had contributed to their condition.
He called on adventurers to take all necessary safety precautions before setting off on mountain trips.
Police did not state when the rescue mission took place.
