DUBAI // A pharmacy group is helping the UAE Red Crescent Society (UAERC) supply medicine to the residents of Gaza. BinSina Pharmacy is working with Palestinian health organisations to determine the areas in Gaza most in need of medical supplies following three weeks of Israeli attacks. The company has donated medicines, including drugs for chronic and psychological illnesses, to be sent to the coastal territory along with other donations by UAE residents.
A campaign for donating medicine at BinSina pharmacies will run until Feb 5. The manager of the Dubai branch of the UAERC, Mohammed al Zarooni, said: "This campaign forms part of the tireless efforts of the UAERC to provide relief to the people of Gaza in one of the most brutal and inhuman attacks that have violated every form of human rights." Ayman Hanbali, a spokesman for BinSina Pharmacy, said the company was working directly with the Red Crescent to deliver the medicines.
Mr Hanbali said it was BinSina's duty as an Arab company to render humanitarian and medical aid to the Palestinians. eharnan@thenational.ae
