Pakistan's Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi visited Expo 2020 Dubai during a three-day visit to the UAE.

The General Consulate of Pakistan in Dubai said the minister would later hold talks with UAE officials on bilateral co-operation, as well as discuss regional and global issues.

More than a million Pakistani citizens live in the UAE, making it home to the second-largest Pakistani community abroad.

Mr Qureshi will discuss trade, investment and employment opportunities for Pakistani citizens during his visit.

On Sunday, Mr Qureshi toured the Pakistan Pavilion at the Dubai Expo 2020 site.

“Great visit to the site of Expo 2020 Dubai, a landmark achievement for the UAE and the entire region," he tweeted.

"Pakistan is delighted to be a part of Expo 2020 with the Pakistan Pavilion, in collaboration with the government of the UAE."

The pavilion, which spans 3,251 square metres, was recently handed over to Pakistani officials as construction was complete.

Located in the Opportunity District, the pavilion's theme is Pakistan: The Hidden Treasure. It aims to boost tourism, commerce and investment in Pakistan.

It will also transport visitors on a journey from the world's earliest recorded civilisations to the challenges of the new millennium.
