One of Abu Dhabi's oldest parks has been renovated at a cost of Dh1 million.
The overhaul to Dolphin Park, located at Al Qurm Corniche on Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Street, includes renovated playgrounds, rejuvenated fountains, and refreshed greenery.
Abu Dhabi Municipality oversaw the project which also includes better lighting and signage.
The park, distinguished by its dolphin fountains, was built about 30 years ago, and overlooks the city's Mangrove National Park.
It is popular with residents as facilities include 10 barbecue areas, playgrounds and football and basketball courts.
In 2019, major roadworks started to widen Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Street.
The old four kilometre walkway with its distinctive concrete canopies that connected Dolphin Park to the Eastern Mangroves Hotel was closed off to walkers.
That path has also been undergoing a refresh to make it more accessible to the public but a completion date has not been confirmed yet.

What sanctions would be reimposed?
Under ‘snapback’, measures imposed on Iran by the UN Security Council in six resolutions would be restored, including:
- An arms embargo
- A ban on uranium enrichment and reprocessing
- A ban on launches and other activities with ballistic missiles capable of delivering nuclear weapons, as well as ballistic missile technology transfer and technical assistance

Should late investors consider cryptocurrencies?
Wealth managers recommend late investors to have a balanced portfolio that typically includes traditional assets such as cash, government and corporate bonds, equities, commodities and commercial property.
They do not usually recommend investing in Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies due to the risk and volatility associated with them.
“It has produced eye-watering returns for some, whereas others have lost substantially as this has all depended purely on timing and when the buy-in was. If someone still has about 20 to 25 years until retirement, there isn’t any need to take such risks,” Rupert Connor of Abacus Financial Consultant says.
He adds that if a person is interested in owning a business or growing a property portfolio to increase their retirement income, this can be encouraged provided they keep in mind the overall risk profile of these assets.
