Dirk Nowitzki finished with 37 points, including 22 in the second half, as the Dallas Mavericks beat the Boston Celtics 99-90 in their match-up on Monday.
Nowitzki shot 14-of-22 from the field and went on a nine-point unanswered scoring spree in the third quarter which gave the Mavericks a lead they would hold for the rest of the game. Jason Kidd scored 13 points and added 17 assists for the Mavericks, who had lost three of their last four games.
"We have been struggling offensively for some reason," Nowitzki said. "We need to get the stops in our end and get the ball and run and have fun.
"It all starts on our defensive end. We did a great job in the second half."
Paul Pierce scored 24 points, Ray Allen scored 21, Kendrick Perkins had 14 points and 12 rebounds and Rajon Rondo had 12 assists for Boston, who have lost three in a row at home.
The Celtics have lost four of their last six overall, and they are 4-7 since beating the Magic in Orlando on Christmas Day.
Boston led by five points, 25-20, after the first quarter and boosted that to 50-41 at the half.
The Mavericks rallied late in the third as Erick Dampier drove for a basket and Nowitzki hit a jump shot from the left side to give Dallas a 69-68 lead and then a jump shot from the top of the key for his ninth successive point.
Elsewhere in the NBA, the New York Knicks' Nate Robinson scored 27 - with five three-point tallies - en route to a 99-91 win over the Detroit Pistons.
The Washington Wizards showed some form in beating the Portland Trail Blazers 97-92 as Antawn Jamison sank 28 points at the business end of the game.
The Atlanta Hawks' three-match winning run was halted 94-91 by the Oklahoma City Thunder, with Kevin Durant scoring 29 points.
The Houston Rockets needed overtime to beat the Milwaukee Bucks 101-98, with Luis Scola hitting his peak for the season with 27 points.
Overtime was also needed as the Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Philadelphia 76ers 108-103.
The Charlotte Bobcats edged the Sacramento Kings 105-103, while the Los Angeles Clippers were comfortable 106-95 winners over the New Jersey Nets.
Tony Parker was the star with 25 points as the San Antonio Spurs overcame the New Orleans Hornets 97-90, while the Memphis Grizzlies beat the Phoenix Suns 125-118 and the Golden State Warriors trounced the Chicago Bulls 114-97, with Monta Ellis scoring 36 points along with eight assists and five rebounds.

The United kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the United Arab Emirates; Considering that the United Arab Emirates has assumed full responsibility as a sovereign and independent State; Determined that the long-standing and traditional relations of close friendship and cooperation between their peoples shall continue; Desiring to give expression to this intention in the form of a Treaty Friendship; Have agreed as follows:
ARTICLE 1 The relations between the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the United Arab Emirates shall be governed by a spirit of close friendship. In recognition of this, the Contracting Parties, conscious of their common interest in the peace and stability of the region, shall: (a) consult together on matters of mutual concern in time of need; (b) settle all their disputes by peaceful means in conformity with the provisions of the Charter of the United Nations.
ARTICLE 2 The Contracting Parties shall encourage education, scientific and cultural cooperation between the two States in accordance with arrangements to be agreed. Such arrangements shall cover among other things: (a) the promotion of mutual understanding of their respective cultures, civilisations and languages, the promotion of contacts among professional bodies, universities and cultural institutions; (c) the encouragement of technical, scientific and cultural exchanges.
ARTICLE 3 The Contracting Parties shall maintain the close relationship already existing between them in the field of trade and commerce. Representatives of the Contracting Parties shall meet from time to time to consider means by which such relations can be further developed and strengthened, including the possibility of concluding treaties or agreements on matters of mutual concern.
ARTICLE 4 This Treaty shall enter into force on today’s date and shall remain in force for a period of ten years. Unless twelve months before the expiry of the said period of ten years either Contracting Party shall have given notice to the other of its intention to terminate the Treaty, this Treaty shall remain in force thereafter until the expiry of twelve months from the date on which notice of such intention is given.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF the undersigned have signed this Treaty.

What drives subscription retailing?
Once the domain of newspaper home deliveries, subscription model retailing has combined with e-commerce to permeate myriad products and services.
The concept has grown tremendously around the world and is forecast to thrive further, according to UnivDatos Market Insights’ report on recent and predicted trends in the sector.
The global subscription e-commerce market was valued at $13.2 billion (Dh48.5bn) in 2018. It is forecast to touch $478.2bn in 2025, and include the entertainment, fitness, food, cosmetics, baby care and fashion sectors.
The report says subscription-based services currently constitute “a small trend within e-commerce”. The US hosts almost 70 per cent of recurring plan firms, including leaders Dollar Shave Club, Hello Fresh and Netflix. Walmart and Sephora are among longer established retailers entering the space.
UnivDatos cites younger and affluent urbanites as prime subscription targets, with women currently the largest share of end-users.
That’s expected to remain unchanged until 2025, when women will represent a $246.6bn market share, owing to increasing numbers of start-ups targeting women.
Personal care and beauty occupy the largest chunk of the worldwide subscription e-commerce market, with changing lifestyles, work schedules, customisation and convenience among the chief future drivers.
