A motorist has been caught driving at 225kph in Umm Al Quwain. Police said the man was seen travelling at more than 80kph above the speed limit on Sheikh Zayed road. Officers urged all drivers to stick to designated speed restrictions and not to flout the law. Anyone caught breaking the speed limit by 80kph or more in the UAE is subject to a Dh3,000 fine and their car impounded for 60 days.
