Five men who allegedly stole jewellery valued at Dh3 million in a heist on Wednesday have been arrested.
Last week, the gang entered a jewellery shop in Dubai International City with their faces covered with masks.
They sprayed the shop employees with pepper spray before stealing the jewellery, police said.
Police raided their flats within 48 hours of the theft and seized the stolen valuables, said Maj Gen Abdullah Al Marri, commander-in-chief of Dubai Police.
Three members of the gang were found hiding in Al Ain while the other two were arrested in Al Ruwais, police said.
“A team of police officers was formed to determine their locations”, said Maj Gen Khalil Al Mansouri, assistant chief of criminal investigation.
The case has been referred to public prosecution.
