Men assaulted security guard before stealing cables from building site, Dubai court hears

DUBAI // A security guard was sexually assaulted by two men who tied him up before stealing cables from a building site, a court has heard.

The two Pakistanis, aged 25 and 30, knocked on the door of the Indian guard’s room at the site in Al Qusais just before 2am on January 28, 2015. They barged in and restrained him.

“They tied me face down to my bed while one of them, I don’t know who because they were masked, assaulted me sexually using my own hair oil,” said the guard, 30.

The guard said that when the man was finished, he removed a blanket they placed over his head and saw the defendants loading cables into their vehicle.

The guard was locked in this room but escaped through a window.

“I went to a nearby mosque and called the engineer in charge,” said the guard.

The defendants stole Dh14,000 worth of cable. They were charged with armed robbery and one with sexual assault.

They denied all charges in Dubai Criminal Court. A verdict is expected on February 27.
