DUBAI // A 58-year-old man has been found guilty of using male prostitutes, and his boyfriend and a colleague convicted of theft and sexual assault.
The Frenchman had been in a relationship with a 23-year-old Pakistani baggage handler and had sex with him and a colleague in his flat before the two assaulted and stole from him.
The boyfriend and the other man, a 28-year-old Pakistani, arrived at the Frenchman’s apartment in International City at 4pm on December 26 last year.
“The new man asked to have sex with me but I refused, after which they stripped me naked and raped me,” said the senior flight attendant.
He said the Pakistani pair then beat him up and stole three mobile phones, a laptop, an iPad, several bank and work cards, his airport permit and driving licence.
“Before they left, they held a knife against my face and threatened to kill me if I didn’t give them the secret code to my ATM card,” he said.
The pair then tied him up before leaving his apartment.
Police received a report of the assault and the Pakistani men were arrested. During questioning both said they did not force the Frenchman into having sex, and that he paid them Dh150 each for it.
The flight attendant admitted a prostitution charge and was sentenced to six months in jail. The other two were sentenced to a year in jail each for theft and sexual assault.
All three will be deported after completing their sentences.

Real estate tokenisation project
Dubai launched the pilot phase of its real estate tokenisation project last month.
The initiative focuses on converting real estate assets into digital tokens recorded on blockchain technology and helps in streamlining the process of buying, selling and investing, the Dubai Land Department said.
Dubai’s real estate tokenisation market is projected to reach Dh60 billion ($16.33 billion) by 2033, representing 7 per cent of the emirate’s total property transactions, according to the DLD.
