DUBAI // A man parked in front of Dubai Police headquarters and started smoking hashish, a court heard.
Police said they had already been tipped off about M A, 23, and his activities but on September 8, he drove to the car park and took drugs, it was alleged at Dubai Criminal Court. “We searched him and his car. We found hashish hidden inside his sunglasses box and some drug tablets too, ” said A H, 39, a police colonel.
Emirati M A confessed to possessing and consuming drugs but he denied driving while under the influence of them.
“I was parked when they arrested me. I was not driving,” the defendant said.
A verdict is expected on January 15.

Real estate tokenisation project
Dubai launched the pilot phase of its real estate tokenisation project last month.
The initiative focuses on converting real estate assets into digital tokens recorded on blockchain technology and helps in streamlining the process of buying, selling and investing, the Dubai Land Department said.
Dubai’s real estate tokenisation market is projected to reach Dh60 billion ($16.33 billion) by 2033, representing 7 per cent of the emirate’s total property transactions, according to the DLD.
