A man ran off with Dh182,000 he borrowed from his wife, then assaulted her when she tracked him down, a Dubai court heard.
NM, a 44-year-old British woman on a visit visa, told the court last week that she married the 46-year-old Moroccan AS four years ago in Dubai. She had continued living in the UK but often visited the emirate.
Last year, she sought the help of her husband's compatriot and former business partner AM, 31, to track down her errant spouse. They found him in Fareej Al Marar when he assaulted them. He denied the charges.
